Polyester (PET) and Graphene Yarns and Fabrics

As for fabrics for clothing (technical, work, sports, or high fashion) we have developed masterbatches starting from virgin CoPET. The fabrics derived from these resins show marked mechanical improvements such as: greater tensile strength (tear), perforation and abrasion.

CoPET masterbatch with functionalized Graphene

The resins we offer for this sector are extremely thermally conductive. Graphene is an excellent conductor and allows the passage of heat from a hot point to a colder point in a uniformly distributed manner. In fabrics this leads to a few degrees of thermal comfort; very important aspect when, for example, technical garments are worn in critical environmental conditions.

Thermoplastic resin CoPET (Co-Polyester) without Graphene

All the masters produced by Hygraner for clothing, allow to realize antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, sterilizable fabrics, even if they are always active and washable for the whole life of the fabric itself, because they derive from fibres that incorporate graphene. The innovation lies in the fact that the fibre is made of graphene. There is no application of graphene on the fibre, or on the fabric through finishing techniques, or anything else. From here on, we can start, concretely, to talk about graphene fabric. Our research continues and our developments will allow us to create a multitude of innovative fabrics in the years to come. “The new era of Textile has begun”.

Polyester (PET) yarns with and without Graphene

All fabrics can absorb heat and can withstand higher operating temperatures (or heat generated from external sources) than fabric made with unfilled resins. All are impermeable to water and have, depending on the required processing, the right breathability. All are classified as non-toxic, antistatic, hypoallergenic. Among the improvements conferred to these fabrics by graphene, there is also the reduced bio-deterioration and the non-formation of bad odors of microbial origin.
